The Week in Winners: Pair of Mega Millions Prizes, $2 Million Scratch-off Hit Highlight Big Week for Winners

Maryland Lottery players won or claimed $36.2 million for the week ending June 28

The Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore reopened on June 24 after having been closed since March 30 due to the coronavirus, and players made appointments to claim dozens of big prizes.

Among the biggest payouts were a $2 million score on the Rose Gold Black scratch-off game and two big hits on Mega Millions, one for $4 million and another for $1 million.

In all, Maryland Lottery players won or claimed more than $36.2 million in prizes during the week of June 22-28.

Many winners of large prizes have been patiently waiting to claim their winnings while the Lottery Claims Center was closed. A total of 104 tickets worth $10,000 or more were claimed or sold in the seven days ending June 28, including 65 scratch-offs and 39 draw game tickets.

Of those 39 draw game tickets, 30 were purchased prior to the week of June 22-28. Eight draw game tickets that are big winners were purchased last week and had not yet been claimed as of June 29.

The Lottery’s Claims Center in Baltimore is open by appointment only. Walk-in claims are not permitted at this time.

Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes of $25,001 or more must be claimed at the Lottery Claims Center.

Draw game winners have 182 days from the date of a drawing to claim their prizes, though there is a grace period for tickets that expire during the COVID-19 state of emergency. For scratch-off games, winners have 182 days from the announced end-of-game date to claim prizes, with last claim dates published in the scratch-off section of mdlottery.com.
